First Lady Lori Shapiro and the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Next Generation Engagement Visit the Mitzvah Circle, Promote Menstrual Equity
The Governor and First Lady Shapiro continue to champion advancing menstrual equity across Pennsylvania, investing $3 million for free menstrual products in K-12 schools and working to make available free menstrual products in all state buildings and 68 state parks.

Mitzvah Circle fire caused substantial losses
On 8/12, we had a fire that damaged our building and ruined our tractor trailer. We lost two truckloads of new clothing, diapers and baby gear. Thankfully no one was injured and we are open and fully operational. To help, donate here and know every dollar will make a difference.
Grant Received from Phillies Charities, Inc.
In December 2019, Mitzvah Circle was honored to receive a generous grant from Phillies Charities, Inc. Such grants are awarded to organizations recognized as transforming their communities and to allow them to continue their efforts. Fran Held, Executive Director of Mitzvah Circle, accepted the grant during the #GivingTuesday holiday party at Citizens Bank Park.

Mitzvah Circle Provides Essential Supplies
Families often cannot afford essential items like toiletries, diapers and period supplies, but having these supplies allows individuals and families to go to work and school. Fran Held, Founder and Executive Director of Mitzvah Circle, discusses how her organization helps to provide everyday items not covered by government assistance to families in the region.
Mitzvah Circle Wins 2018 FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award
The Philadelphia Division honors the Mitzvah Circle Foundation. The foundation was created to provide free, ongoing help to those who otherwise fall through the cracks. People we serve, who include individuals and families facing crises, receive service referrals, food, clothing, and other assistance. Each person is treated with dignity and respect.
In a ceremony at FBI Headquarters on May 3, 2019, Director Christopher Wray recognized the recipients of the 2018 Director’s Community Leadership Award. These leaders, selected by their area FBI field office, have demonstrated outstanding contributions to their local communities through service. The FBI is grateful for the work of each of these individuals and organizations on behalf of their communities.
