Children must be 18 months and younger as of September 24, 2017.
There will be two different races: one for crawlers and one for walkers. Each race may have several heats depending on the number of participants. In the crawling race, babies must crawl across the finish line, no exceptions.
Only two parents/guardians/helpers per child may participate. One at the start line and one at the finish line. Toys, cereal, props, etc. may be used to encourage the child to cross the finish line. However, these items may not interfere with any other children. Judges may ask that a prop not be used for any reason.
Parents/helpers may not be on the race mat once the race has begun. They must stay behind the start and finish lines.
The winner is the baby/toddler who crosses the finish line first.
The race is not over until the judges announce the winner. Until then all rules apply.
Children are allowed to crawl/walk anywhere on the mat and can cross the finish line anywhere.
Children must be completely clothed.
Contestants cannot get help from the audience.
Should a child need help at any time during the race, the parent should enter the race area from the back of the race area, unless it is an emergency, so as to not distract the other contestants. The child will be disqualified.
Judges will base their decisions on what they see during the race. All decisions of the judges are final and at their sole discretion.
Depending on the number of entrants, there may be several heats.
