Mitzvah Circle Foundation is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization designed to provide meaningful support to individuals and families during difficult times. Our goal is to help people in times of individual crisis, poverty, homelessness and serious illness.
We do this by allocating money contributions, providing gift cards and goods through our warehouse, and by coordinating services for people who are truly in need. We aim to support others by working with them to fulfill specific needs, especially when they have exhausted other options for assistance. We work with referring organizations and with recipients. We respond to people who apply to us directly, providing personal support so that they need not feel isolated.
At Mitzvah Circle Foundation everyone has a role whether as a donor, volunteer or recipient. In some cases, a person may be a recipient one day and a donor who provides support to someone else on another day. Mitzvah Circle Foundation also creates partnerships with individuals, foundations, corporations, and communities of faith that wish to provide community service, goods or donations of money on an ongoing basis.
We believe that all people are deserving of respect and dignity and that people are all the same inside, regardless of what we own or do not own. We believe that no person should have to go without food, shelter, clothing or other essential items. We believe that we should support people who are struggling with serious illness or poverty.
We believe we all share a responsibility to help make the world a better place and that by acting together we can bring about a greater good. That is why we treat all people with kindness and compassion, focusing on our similarities with every person, not on our differences, as we strive to create hope for people in circumstances that might have seemed hopeless.
We provide support in the form of goods, service, gift cards and information for individuals and families when they are in a time of need. We also provide opportunities for people who want to help others to do so. We encourage volunteers to reach out to others in innovative ways such as our Adopt-a-Class Program which gives school supplies, clothing and other essential items to school children living in difficult circumstances or poverty.
Our Mitzvah Circle Food Project delivers more than 500 pounds of food weekly from local supermarkets and bakeries to after-school programs, community centers and food banks. Our Homeless Outreach Program, which includes our Hats4Homeless Project, assists hundreds of people each year by providing quality shoes, clothing and other essential items, as well as hand-made knitted items to shelters and individuals across the country.
