The mission of Mitzvah Circle Foundation is to help the most vulnerable people in communities across America. We help adults and children who fall through the cracks. Last week I traveled to meet with volunteers and to create relationships for Mitzvah Circle Foundation in Little Rock, Arkansas where thousands of children are living in poverty.
I was enormously grateful for the opportunity to meet with a wonderful Assistant Principal at the Martin Luther King Elementary Magnet School, as well as some of her devoted staff. We are including this school in our Adopt-a-Class Program, with the hope that we can supply all of these children with the necessary supplies for a successful school year. In no time we discovered what some of the other essential needs are of the children at the Martin Luther King School.
The school dress code requires khaki pants and blue, white, or yellow polo shirts, but not all the children can afford these items. Additionally, these students need simple things — like tooth brushes — so when they don't have a tooth brush at home they can go to the nurse and brush their teeth at school. It sounds so small, but it really is so big.
There are times when a small thing, given at a critical time, can change a life. With your help we can transform lives every day.
