Hats4Homeless Project

Central to our philosophy at Mitzvah Circle Foundation is that we do not believe in second class goods for second class people. We do not give people items that we would not use ourselves. There are many gently used items that our donors are happy to give and that our recipients appreciate 52 weeks a year. However, we are also delighted when we are able to provide recipients with something that is brand new and made especially with them in mind. Our Hats4Homeless Project allows us to do just that!

One of the many joys of Mitzvah Circle Foundation is being able to match the interests of our volunteers to the needs of our recipients. Our Hats4Homeless Project is one simple way that we engage knitters to create hats for homeless adults and children. We are so fortunate to know Susan and others who love to knit. Her work is beautiful and the love and care she and her fellow knitters put into each garment is exceptional.

At Mitzvah Circle Foundation we promote individualism and creativity. No two people are exactly the same and therefore no two projects are identical. If you are a knitter and want to knit, we want you! We have no particular specifications of what you must knit or what patterns or dimensions must be used. We want to be flexible and make sure that every volunteer understands that his or her efforts are appreciated. We accept items that are big and small, one color or a variety of colors. Regardless of whether you would like to knit one hat or one hundred, and regardless of their colors or shapes, we will be happy to receive each and every one.

Although one of our leading projects is Hats4Homeless, we will accept blankets, scarves and mittens as well. You can knit every week of the year or can knit one item, one time, and we will be as grateful. At Mitzvah Circle Foundation we work tirelessly to make certain that we have an appropriate recipient for anything you create and donate to us. Thank you for being a part of our Circle.
